A fallout shelter for 300 people
We have found a fallout shelter (bunker) in the industrial area, while searching for a new datacenter location...
A sealed door
It's capable to withstand a nuclear explosion nearby.
Artefacts
Untouched by time and human beings
Inside the Bunker
Everything has been left us it was during soviet era, including mandatory Brezhnev's portrait
Gas masks
A small stock of gas masks
A stock of gas masks
All brand new, made in 1979, in sealed boxes
Aid kit and other equipment
Builders were amusing themselves with it at the beginning of the reconditioning
Plasterers
Particularly pleased with their armbands
A tank radio R-123m
Survivors were supposed to communicate with the outside world from the shelter with its help
Hard hats
They are here by accident, apparently. What the hell they are doing in a bunker - no idea.
A dosimeter-radiometer GP5-V
No vial with cesium, or whatever they had inside, luckily
A phone TA-57
Still working. And successfully integrated into an office's PBX
A vent system
Manual or electric drive, we've tried to twiddle it, and felt the fresh air coming - still working
Armbands
Each survivor got one, to avoid confusion of a commander with a person responsible for a kitchen
The main switch
Turns on the main mechanism
Drainage and Water Supply
Still working, surprisingly
Restrooms
A pit toilet, separated, 6 seats total. Not so many for 300 people...
Beds
Rather small, but you can't ask for a comfort here
Documents
Instructions, manuals, guidelines - many pounds of paper wisdom
A vent
If you want to breath, when it's nuclear war outside and 300 people inside - just turn the handle!
Authorities admission room
Rather small
Beds
Thick will fit badly, thin will fit poorly
Civil Defense Inventory
Just stored here obviously, because nobody was checking gas masks in the bunker
Posters
Posters are everywhere, full of optimism and joy
